Getting ready to bloom!

This bloom is LONG overdue :) I'm hoping to get a couple pics of it for a storyboard as it blooms, but I can't move the plant so I have to remember to take the picture at the same time everyday! I had to rig a "tripod" with the other plant holders :) This should be a fun project for a while... give the kids a break!! Maybe by next week they'll be begging for me to take their picture!! ha

Valentines

I'm just horrible this week. My kids won't cooperate, and I'm feeling rushed everytime I get out my camera. I don't know what is going on!! I think I was spoiled by taking pictures of STILL tree branches and leaves!

Another one...

Maybe I should have used this one for my photo of the day... I like it better. :) I'm lovin this snow for picture taking, but it's not so great for school bus driving.  Posted by Picasa

Yucky picture of the day...

I rushed when I was taking pictures this afternoon. Nothing special.

Yucky color, yucky focus, yucky expression... just yucky.

But, I got the camera out and took some pictures. Today I learned this... do not rush. :) Posted by Picasa

Ice, Ice, Baby

I love post processing pictures of ice... Whoa, the detail is so much fun! This morning really had me ready to RUN to the nearest camera store yelling "I need a Canon Macro Lens, NOW!!"

I was so happy to have my "nifty fifty"... I put the kit lens on the camera for the first time since buying the 50mm and I was so frustrated trying to take a shot! The lens stayed on the camera for 1 shot and it was back off. I'm sure it will be fine for everyday photos, but not today. ;)

This is a leaf trapped under a sheet of melting ice. Can you tell?

Fun ice shot...

Fun ice shot, cropped tighter, and USM... (I love Photoshop)

More ice... I'm liking this shot :)

BTW, Thanks Mom for not only buying my camera, but watching the kids while I run outside like a crazy person taking pictures of tree branches. :) Posted by Picasa

Through the glass

Taking pictures of objects through other objects... fun project for the day, right?

This is a window off the deck in my parents backyard. I played around with the focus points and took 2 totally different pictures of the same thing... fun fun! It also snowed today, I'll be sure to post some fun snow pictures soon!

Not feeling well...

As I was making my Chicken Noodle Soup I thought it would be a good "Photo of the Day".

I actually took it back to the laundry room and tried to get some reflection on the top of the shiney dryer... it didn't work out as well as I had hoped, but it was an idea, right :)

Magic Spot...

The Magic Spot is a chair by the large front window downstairs... I call it magic because the kids enjoy getting their pictures taken in a spot that is called "Magic". Well today they figured it out. It's just a spot for mom to take for pictures. Before they figured out it wasn't magic I got a few pictures.

I ran Lori Cox's Gobstopper action on this one... f/2.2 ss160 This is a strange one, but I like it. Of course I do, it's of Abby. :) But I have no idea why the background completely blacked out like that. We were sitting in the magic spot... I must have done something different.

The ISO was at 1600 for the first couple pics... whoops. At least I remember the BBF button! One day I'll get it all straight. :) This was one of the first with 1600ISO, I wish I would have caught it before this shot. It's pretty noisy.
Put a fork in her... she's done. :)

Air and Space Museum

Lighting was a challenge at the Museum. Everything was under spotlights, but it was really dark inside the museum. It gives a great impact for the aircraft, but makes picture taking on Manual more difficult.

Here are some fun shots from today.

Okay, I did it, a photography blog...

I felt silly posting all my EXIF data on my kids blog... so here is where I can post my pictures. (the good, the bad and the underexposed)
